The natural hand made cosmetics company

Brackencraft is a very small familly run company that manufactures hand made cosmetics products. These include Soaps and Bathbombs, fizzing bath melts, lip balms, body butters and a small range of moisturisers. None of Brackencraft products are made using premade bases. All products are made from scratch using quality natural, vegan ingredients. Bsoaps are hand made soaps made from real, natural ingredients using traditional methods and are as natural as any you will find anywhere. They are manufactured in small batches, made in large blocks in wooden moulds and hand cut so the sizes and shapes vary a little. They cure in the moulds for 24-48 hours before they are ready to be removed from the mould. They are then air dried for around a week before being hand cut to as close to 100g bars as is possible. After this they are then air dried for a further 4-6 weeks before they are pH tested to check they are ready to use. They are registered with the Vegan Society and will be in the 2009 Cruelty Free Shopper. Bsoaps are made from pure Greek Olive Oil, Coconut oil and Organic Palm Oil (from Columbia which ensures no Orangutans have lost their habitat in the manufacture of this soap). They contain no artificial additives, colours, fragrances, preservatives, SLS or parabens. They are perfumed with Essential oils although there is also an unfragranced bar and the preservatives are either natural vitamin E or organic grapefruit seed oil. Some are enriched with Evening Primrose oil, Sweet Almond oil or Shea Butter. Prices start at £1:50 for the unfragranced soap to £3:50 for the Rose and Geranium soap which is the most expensive. The Bsoaps range includes, Camomile and Lemon, Peppermint and Green Tea with Nettle, White Cinnamon, Geranium and Orange, Lavender and Coconut ( containing dessicated coconut for its exfoliating properties), Patchouli and Orange, Cinnamon Swirl, Rose and Geranium, Cranberry ( which contains whole cranberries) and a Plain, unfragranced soap. The soaps are priced individually to allow for the very real differences in their manufacture costs. For example Rose Absolute is very expensive so the price of the Rose and Geranium soap reflects this. It also seems unfair to me that the unfragranced soap which contains less ingredients should cost the same as the rest which contain essential oils. A major difference between natural hand made soaps made using the cold process method and supermarket soaps is that natural soaps also contain all the glycerine which is naturally occuring during the chemical reaction where the soaps are made. This is a very moisturinsing compound and therefore very good for your skin. So moisturising infact that many people using this type of soap no longer need to use moisturisers. However this obviously does depend on the individual and their own skin type. The chemical industry generally removes the natural glycerine from common soaps since it can be sold in its own right as a very expensive product. Being completely natural products the soaps do need to be used within a year so please make sure you use them by the date given. If kept longer than this the essential oils may fade, however to date no soap has yet "gone off".
Please note that due to this soap being hand cut, the minimum weight is 100g but the individual soaps do vary slightly so some may weigh slightly more.
All products have been independently safety assessed and the soaps are weighed using Trading Standards approved scales.
